Join us at the Firehouse Art Center to celebrate our 50th anniversary with our Back to the Arts open house event. This event will offer a day of beautiful visual arts demonstrations and hands-on, creative projects for all ages, and we would love for you to come and participate. We are excited to welcome our community back into the Firehouse to demonstrate the opportunities and classes offered in the Fall.
This event features indoor and outdoor art activities and engagements for creatives and makers and their families. Outdoor activities will include live art demonstrations and hands-on, creative projects like foil sculpting, chalk drawing, mask making, and frottage drawing. Multiple projects will be offered to help teach visual art techniques and encourage self-expression.
Inside the Firehouse, our adult faculty and students will discuss the different techniques and projects they cover in their classes and what new students will experience in Firehouse programs. Meet the artists and learn about the artists' tools and techniques in our Jewelry, Fused Glass, Drawing, and Painting departments.
The Firehouse believes that the arts are for everyone, and we hope that you will join us on this day of creativity. This event is made possible through contributions from Norman Arts Council, Oklahoma Arts Council, the City of Norman, and Fowler Automotive. Children's activities sponsors include National Endowment for the Arts, Allied Arts, and Armstrong Bank.
